Overview:

The At-Risk Coordinator serves as a support and a coach at campus and classroom teacher levels in the implementation, monitoring, and improvement of Response to Intervention (RTI), at-risk student identification (academic & behavioral), and tracking data to improve student performance.


Job Description:

  • Tracking, record keeping, soliciting and securing rewards, and planning celebrations at YMS for PBIS celebrations
  • Serve as point person for implementation of behavior transition plans and/or academic interventions for students
  • Coordinate and implement PBIS activities school-wide
  • Lead family engagement activities
  • Serve as a member of the Building Leadership Team with a focus on student behavior interventions
  • Serve as point of contact for drug and alcohol referrals
  • Meet with small groups or individual students for documented intervention services
  • Research strategies and lead planning efforts for attendance improvement and truancy prevention activities
  • Assist in IGP process in the spring
  • Lead professional development with teachers focused on behavior intervention strategies and PBIS programs


Job Qualifications:

SC Certified, guidance preferred, 4 Year Degree required


Skills/Responsibilities
:

  • Assist in identifying and providing services to at-risk students
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by the supervisor for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the student
  • Attends meetings (i.e. intervention meetings, parent/teacher meetings, etc.) for the purpose of gathering and disseminating information, as well as to provide training to parents of students identified as being at risk

Working Conditions:

Office environment with little exposure to environmental conditions. Physical demands are restricted to general office activities requiring the movement/lifting of items weighing up to twenty-five pounds. Routine local travel required; occasional overnight travel required. Requires ability to work under a degree of stress related to duties that require considerable attention and meeting deadlines.


Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee is continuously interacting with the public, staff, and students. The employee frequently must meet multiple demands from several people. The employee is regularly required to sit and stand. The employee is required to walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. Occasionally the employee must use hand/grip strength to operate office equipment.


Terms of Employment:

Grant funded, renewable contingent upon availability of annual grant funds.
