Associate/Full Professor in Applied Behavior Analysis - Director of MS Program

The Department of Psychology at Western New England University invites applications for a full-time tenure-track Associate or Full professor to serve as the Director of our M.S. program in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) beginning Fall 2023.

We seek an energetic colleague to join our faculty who will complement and diversify existing research and mentoring. The Director position is a full-time position with an 11-month contract that extends the regular 9-month faculty contract to provide summer support. As Director, the faculty member works closely with the Chair of the department to oversee the M.S. in ABA program. The program is offered at the The New England Center for Children (NECC), an internationally recognized center at the forefront of research and treatment for autism spectrum disorders that provides a comprehensive, structured atmosphere for research and clinical experiences. The Director will provide programmatic leadership and assurances of quality in coursework and clinical training.

The ideal candidate will have strong clinical research skills, an active research program, and a record of scholarly productivity. The area of research is open, but specialization should emphasize clinical focus and application. The faculty member will have the opportunity to recruit and mentor both masters and doctoral students in their research. Undergraduate involvement in research is also encouraged and supported via dedicated research courses. The faculty member will also have the opportunity to teach courses in their area of expertise in the undergraduate, masters, and/or doctoral programs.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Teach 4 courses per year.
Maintain an active program of research.
Maintain a high-quality curriculum and practicum experiences.
Serve as the official coordinator for the Verified Course Sequence, maintain program verification, monitor requirement changes, submit annual renewal applications.
Schedule M.S. courses each term.
Direct and oversee the recruitment and application process for prospective students.
Coordinate student course registration.
Monitor student progress and work with students and advisors to address performance issues.
Maintain the M.S. student handbook and make revisions as required.
Coordinate program evaluations.

Qualifications:

PhD in Psychology, Behavior Analysis, or related discipline
BCBA-D Certification
A record of teaching behavior analysis in higher education
A record of scholarly productivity
