We are seeking an Associate Director of Student Success Communications who will help to develop and implement a vision and strategy to support ASU Online student retention, re-entry, and persistence. In this role you will design and lead long-term strategy/vision for our ASU Online student communication experiences. This is a new role that will cultivate and bridge relationships across the university, connect the dots on current and future efforts, and find additional opportunities that will meet students where they are in their journey.

Essential Duties

Leadership

  • Acts as a “right hand” to EdPlus leadership providing insights and management over and above specific initiatives to help lead student enroll and success growth.
  • Provides vision, strategy and direction for all creative, digital and marketing functions for continuing and re-engaged online students.
  • Presents information about learner digital experiences and business objectives to visitors and other departments using a variety of presentation formats, including oral presentations/tours.
  • Represents EdPlus Communications and serves on various department and university committees as assigned.
  • Serves as a representative of the University at state, regional and national organizations, boards, councils and committees as assigned.
  • Develops work plans in accordance with established unit and department objectives and funding limitations.
  • Supervises, trains, and evaluates assigned staff.
  • Assumes or coordinates other duties or projects as assigned or directed.

Vision

  • Informs ASU Online student experience product roadmap and prioritization by combining customer, market, and competitive insights into recommendations for how we can deliver more value and increase engagement.
  • Oversees writing and production of current student content, including email, SMS, web pages, nurtures, articles, and surveys.
  • “Connect the dots” as it pertains to large and complex communication experiences as well as detect gaps and opportunities in these experiences.

Collaboration

  • Collaborates with multiple internal and external teams to obtain insights into student behavior and develop strategies to help solve challenges that arise.
  • Leads integrated communication efforts with internal resources (e.g. success center, content, student engagement, design and UX) as well as external resources (e.g. agencies and University partners).
  • Works with external partners to enhance current and create new collateral to support goals and objectives.
  • Communicates with other department and university administrators; resolves or assists with the resolution of sensitive issues.

Data Driven – User Centric

  • Collects, analyzes and shares results of all tracking mechanisms (including but not limited to: nurture campaigns, customer experience surveys, etc.) internally to adapt and create marketing campaigns/initiatives/offers to drive business results.
  • Track performance changes and develop strategies to address these in order to continually increase conversion.
  • Lead efforts to dive into data to gather insights and adapt to changes.
  • Reviews job performance in conjunction with established unit, department and university goals and objectives.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a field appropriate to the area of assignment AND seven (7) years of related administrative experience, which includes four (4) years of supervisory experience; OR, Eleven (11) years of related administrative experience, which includes four (4) years of supervisory experience; OR, Any equivalent combination of education and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience in marketing or student communication campaigns including development, execution, and analysis.
  • Experience in higher education highly desired.
  • Experience in mapping, building, and deploying complex communications campaigns with measurable results.
  • Ability to be organized and capable of handling multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to track and report on the success of communication efforts in terms of conversions and customer behavior.
  • Experience with conducting marketing campaigns utilizing 1-to-1 and mass communication tactics including, but not limited to, email, SMS and other communication strategies within a higher education setting or an understanding of the principles and practices that lead to conversion, persistence and success.
  • Experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud a plus.
  • Experience leading, training and supervising assigned staff.
  • Understanding of communication compliance inclusive of CAN-SPAM, GRPR, TCPA, CASL and other applicable laws.
  • Experience communicating effectively while following brand guidelines.
  • Experience with CRM systems such as Salesforce and project management systems such as JIRA.
  • Experience in working effectively with others to ensure projects meet deadlines and budgets.
  • Experience in analyzing research data and translate raw information into actionable insights that can be easily understood and utilized by the entire organization.
  • Experience in thinking creatively and strategically while handling complex issues; passion for new technologies.
  • Experience in thriving, adapting and re-prioritizing tasks in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
  • Experience analyzing communication campaign effectiveness.
  • Experience in work that requires organization and attention to detail.
  • Evidence of a Bachelor's degree or higher in a related field.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,336.00 - $91,500.00 per year
