Taconic Biosciences is seeking the internal job title of Support Services Technician to join our dedicated team at our Germantown, NY site. We have positions open in our Wash Department and Central Processing Area.

• The Starting Pay: $20 per hour
• The Schedule: Various shifts available depending on your base department: Starting times vary between 7:00am – 9:00am and end 4:30pm-6:30pm, with an early finish on Friday’s to help you get that head start to your weekend!

The Support Services Technician will be based in one of our Support Services areas: Wash Services, Facilities & Supply, SAS or Central Processing. Over time one will be cross trained in all areas of Support Services and be asked to work in different areas as needed. Each department works to support animal production needs using various methods of cleaning, sterilizing and processing procedures.

Duties of the Support Services Technician include the following:

• Operating autoclaves and cage washers to clean and sterilize feed and assorted barrier supplies.
• Operating forklift to move products and equipment to and from various locations.
• Operating equipment, handling supplies and animals to perform Euthanasia practices.
• Considerable physical exertion is required such as frequent climbing, crouching, crawling, and/or lifting items up to 75 pounds.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or general education (GED)
• Minimum 6 months working experience or related training
• Ability to communicate effectively
• Basic computer skills needed to document routing information – we will train!
• Problem solving
