We are seeking 1L Summer Associates to join our 2023 Summer Associate Program in Minneapolis.
Our summer associate program is designed to give you a good sense of what it is like to practice law at Fredrikson, while also giving you the opportunity to meet people at the firm, hone your skills, become familiar with the Twin Cities, and enjoy the summer.
Summer associates receive projects from every area in their office location. Although the realities of law practice mean that it is often easier to “parcel out” portions of litigation and legal research, Fredrikson's summer associates have the opportunity to work on and observe the transactional side of the practice as well. Our program is flexible: if you are interested in a particular area of law that is practiced within your office, you should be able to get projects from that area.
Fredrikson's summer associates routinely have the opportunity to draft briefs and/or contracts. Summer associates are also invited to handle pro bono projects with assistance provided as needed by supervising attorneys. Throughout the summer, summer associates are invited on "field trips" with attorneys, which could include opportunities to attend closings, court arguments, witness depositions and/or client meetings.
We look for well-rounded individuals who have strong intellectual, problem-solving, analytical, and writing skills, and who have also participated in leadership roles in their schools or communities. Successful candidates display skills and interest in teamwork, an entrepreneurial spirit, taking initiative, a client-orientation, and the ability to create, advance, and deepen relationships.
