Resort Camp Youth Counselor

Trump International Beach Resort is seeking a Youth Camp Counselor that is outgoing, creative, loves to have fun and enjoys being outdoors at the beach and pool as well as provide outstanding service to our young resort guests.

Planet Kids is our day camp program for guests 4-12 years of age where they can explore, discover and enjoy adventures every day.

The primary responsibility of a Resort Youth Counselor is to oversee our young guests and ensure their safety and fun while at Planet Kids.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a role model for all our young guest participating in the day camp program by displaying exemplary behavior at all times.
• Be welcoming to all young guest and their parents.
• Plan, assist, and implement program activities that are engaging and fun as well as relevant as directed by the Supervisor.
• Be willing to dress up, save the world, sing a song and lose the game when needed, build sand castles, fly a kite and enjoy each adventure!
• Ensure a safe and nurturing environment; attending to the needs of campers at all times.
• Participate in special holiday events for hotel guests i.e. 4th of July Carnivals
• Consciously create a climate in Planet kids to foster the goals and objectives of the Trump International Beach Resort Forbes service standards of excellence.
• Supervise and interact with groups of 6 – 12 children.
• Foster positive relationship opportunities amongst the campers in your group and within the whole program.
• Attend all staff meetings and training's.
• Able to work as part of a team.
• Assume equal responsibility of general housekeeping tasks for the camp as directed by the Supervisor.
• Follow all hotel policies and procedures, including those related to medical situations and emergencies
• Daily camp activities include: creating memorable experiences, building friendships, fostering smiles, and having fun!
• Prefer knowledge of, and previous experience with, diverse populations (language, culture, race, physical ability, sexual orientation, etc.). Ability to speak any language in addition to English may be helpful.
• Previous experience working with children preferably in a day camp in one or more of the following areas: outdoor living, camping, songs, skits, sports, aquatics, recreational games.

Requirements:

• Must be at least 18 years old
• Previous experience working with children preferably in a day camp or resort environment.
• Ability to speak any language in addition to English would be helpful.Spanish Preferred
• Certified in CPR preferred but not required
• High School Graduate or Equivalent
• One year of college preferred or other child care certifications
