Expanding California Winery Seeks Tasting Room Host

Are you the person who enjoys refilling everyone’s wine glasses at get-togethers? Then you’ll love pouring wines as a Tasting Room Host for Quady Winery! Quady Winery is a world-renowned and rapidly growing 200,000 case producer of premium sweet wines made from special Muscat grape varieties that thrive in the San Joaquin Valley. As a Tasting Room Host, you will welcome guests into our tasting room, tell them the story of our company and our wines, and provide a warm, welcoming atmosphere. You will be pouring our popular low-alcohol Moscatos, fortified Muscat dessert wines, ports, and vermouths, and selling our wines. Wine industry experience is a plus but not required. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES (including, but not limited to)

· Provide excellent customer service via phone, email, and in person.

· Greet guests, give tastings and winery tours to customers and groups, and effectively sell products.

· Learn about and enthusiastically tell the stories of our brands and our company to winery visitors.

· Take phone orders and process winery direct sales, including preparation for shipment (packing) or pickup, and communicate with customers as needed.

· Assist customers with any product or service issues in a professional and timely manner.

· Develop a proficient understanding and knowledge of winery order processing systems/software.

· Enter and maintain accurate customer information/records stored in appropriate systems/software.

· Monitor and manage online reservations for the tasting room on Tock.

· Promote our Wine Club and sign-up customers in the tasting room or over the phone – educate them on the benefits and requirements of being a club member.

· Provide support to the Direct-to-Consumer Operations Manager during Club Release months with processing orders, packing orders, and phone and customer support.

· Assist in opening/closing the tasting room, counting the money drawer, stocking wine, merchandise and tasting glasses, and any other critical tasting room and DtC operations tasks as needed.

· Take weekly inventory on non-merchandise supplies and communicate any needs to the Direct-to-Consumer Operations Manager.

· Promptly answer incoming phone calls and direct them to the correct person and/or take messages as needed.

· Coordinate with the Direct-to-Consumer Operations Managerand other Quady staff to ensure the tasting room and winery phones are covered consistently and reliably during stated winery operating times, especially during lunch periods, break times, and other times when help may be limited.

· Provide front door assistance to any deliveries, contractors and other visitors who may need help.

· Make weekly post office runs, occasional wine deliveries, and other winery-specific errands as needed.

· Maintain and manage the cleanliness and order of the tasting room and other areas of the winery customers encounter.

· Learn about and adhere to all legal regulations and guidelines relating to marketing in the wine/alcohol industry.

· Other tasks and projects as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

· Retail and customer service experience preferred.

· Interest in wine.

· Enjoyment of interacting with people and displaying a warm, inviting personality.

· Excellent communication skills – verbal, written, and over the phone.

· Experience with Microsoft Office programs a plus.

· Detail oriented, organized, and able to multitask.

· Operate common office equipment, like scanners and printers.

· Motivated to learn, take initiative, and help where needed.

· Ability to maintain a positive attitude and treat all winery employees and visitors with kindness and respect.

· Ability to remain flexible to productively support DtC and Tasting Room needs.

· Dependable, punctual, and consistent regarding attendance and work schedule.

· Willingness to work before, during, or after events if necessary.

· Must maintain tact and integrity when handling confidential information.

· Must successfully become RBS certified to pour alcohol within the state of California (upon hiring).

· Must be 21+ years of age.

· A reliable means of transportation for mail pickup, deliveries, events, and misc. errands.

· Must be able to pass a background verification.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

· Occasionally the employee will stand, walk, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb, bend, twist, lift, balance and reach.

· Ability to lift and transport objects up-to 50 pounds.

· Ability to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time.

· Ability to ascend and descend stairs throughout the workday.

· Comfort working in an environment where noise level is moderate-to-high.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

· Office and warehouse environment with exposure to loud noise.

· Occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts, high places, fumes or airborne particles, potentially toxic or irritating chemicals, and outside weather conditions.

· Occasional evening work or alternative shifts may be required, if necessary, to meet deadlines or attend events held in conjunction with the winery.

JOB TYPE

· Full-Time, hourly; around 32 hours weekly.

· Wednesday – Friday, 8:30am – 5:00pm, and Saturday 10:00am – 5:00pm; schedule may vary depending on Tasting Room and DtC operational needs.

COMPENSATION

· $17-$19 per hour + commissions

· Complete benefit package: 401k with match; health, dental, vision and life insurance; vacation and sick time off; holidays; parental leave, etc.
