This role will monitor and ensure quality and safety standards for arc welding according to ISO 3834.

Welding personnel

● Support the qualification of welders and operators of welding systems.

● Direct daily activities of assigned welding personnel to carry out tasks in support of Production Scheduled Requirements.

● Ensures that all welding activities are performed within specified times by qualified personnel.

● Assists in interviewing and hiring of required weld activities support personnel.

● Evaluates and provides feedback to assigned staff.

Welding equipment

● Check the suitability of welding and additional equipment used according to the guidelines of the applicable welding instructions (WPS)

● Monitor and ensure occupational health and safety for the welding process used

Qualification of welding processes

● Support and implementation of welding process checks according to the guidelines of the specialist department (Welding engineering)

Welding consumables

● Ensure and check the required welding consumables at the welding workstations in accordance with WPS

● Monitor the storage and handling of welding consumables in ongoing production

Monitoring and checking before welding

● Ensure the use of qualified welders and machine operators

● Visual inspection of weld seam preparation in connection with the WPS

Monitoring and checking during welding

● Check and ensure the welding parameters and the welding technology constraints, taking into account the task-specific WPS

● Take independent action in the case of necessary deviations and give instant feedback to the specialist department (Welding engineering)

● Targeted monitoring of critical tasks

● Support of the welding technology personnel with critical weldings and welding technology problems

Monitoring and checking after welding

● Visual inspection of the welded seams

Nonconformity and correction measures

● Introduce suitable measure and ensure that they are used to avoid repairs

● Daily evaluation of welding errors and retraining of welders if necessary

● Determine and monitor necessary weld seam repairs in coordination with production / welding engineering

Quality reports

● Timely preparation of the welding data collection (WDC) by QC

● Daily exchange of information with the specialist department (Welding engineering)

Schedule adherence

● Understand and work to meet 100% on time delivery

● Successfully completed training as a construction mechanic or other skilled occupation with a focus on “welding”

● Additional training as a welding specialist

● Several years of practical experiences with MAG (135,136,138), E-Hand (111) and UP (121) welding processes

● Ideally had previous experience as a welding supervisor

● Prepared to work in 3-shift operation

● Team-oriented way of working

● Ability to assert oneself

● Knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel)

● Adequate command of the English language

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
