The Inventory Control Specialist reports to the Purchasing manager and handles issues related to inventory in our on-site warehouse in Jackson, Mississippi.

The position is located IN PERSON at Forestry Suppliers’ headquarters in Jackson, Mississippi. This is NOT a remote position. Normal working hours are Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm, plus additional hours as needed. Competitive salary with excellent benefits with a long-time stable company.

Responsibilities of the Inventory Control Specialist include:

• Assigns locations in the warehouse for new stock items.
• Resolves problems with inventory errors.
• Assists Customer Service with problem resolution related to inventory issues.
• Handles issues with incoming merchandise from vendors, such as damages, errors, or product recalls.
• Assists employees with order fulfillment by locating merchandise and resolving issues.
• Moves bulk merchandise and helps keep pull locations full.
• Plans, prepares, and conducts, along with the Purchasing manager, an annual year-end physical inventory.
  

Desired Skills and Expertise:

• 5+ years of warehouse experience required.
• High school diploma or GED required. Bachelor’s degree a plus.
• Experience with a distribution business is a plus.
• Forklift certification is a plus.
• Must be able to bend, lift, and push boxes.
• Must be able to use a manual pallet jack and/or hand truck.
• Must be able to work in a warehouse environment.
• Excellent verbal and personal skills required.
• Good computer skills, problem solving, and math skills required.
• Ability to work with a group
• Self-starter and capable of working well alone
• Excellent driving record
