Koniag Data Solutions, a Koniag Government Services company, is seeking an experienced VOIP Engineer with a Public Trust Clearance to support KDS and our government customer in College Park, Maryland.

Essential Functions, Responsibilities & Duties may include, but are not limited to:
  • Provide expert-level support for the Implementation, Deployment, and Engineering of VoIP and UC services.
  • Manage issues related to performance management, implementation engineering, fault isolation, troubleshooting UC and VoIP solutions that traverse the WAN and Managed Services
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive technical artifacts pertaining to the implementation, engineering, and optimization of Enterprise UC services
  • Troubleshoot VoIP and UC solutions as they collaborate and interoperate across a WAN and Cloud environment
  • Design, implement and manage Voice Over Internet Protocol (VoIP) system based on Unified Communications Solutions.
  • Provide WAN subject matter expertise and be the interface with all other engineering teams to facilitate implementation, operations, maintenance, and enhancement of Unified communications services
  • Author SOPs related to standard IT workflows.
  • Enterprise capacity planning experience in providing recommendations from comprehensive network analysis.
  • Support legacy Siemens PBX during transition
  • Manage transition from legacy Siemens PBX to VOIP network
Work Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Experience with MetTel - TrueUC solution (based on Cisco’s unified communications (UC) application UC-One) is a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, or a similar field.
  • A minimum of 10 years of demonstrated experience supporting VoIP and UC solutions.
  • In-depth knowledge of VoIP systems and IP Protocols.
  • Detailed knowledge of network security systems and software.
  • Good project management skills.
  • Familiarity with WAN and LAN systems.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills.
  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills.
Working Environment & Conditions
This position is primarily indoors, consistent with a standard office position and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. The incumbent is required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The workload may require the incumbent to sit for extended periods of time. The incumbent must be able to read, do simple math calculations and withstand moderate amounts of stress. The incumbent must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
