Position Summary

The Vice President of Operations, ARRMC & AACH is responsible for creating a culture that fosters staff self-development and continued learning; directs overall day-to-day operations of designated areas; provides direction for allocation of department resources; provides strategic planning and direction for meeting Asante goals and objectives in the following areas: Imaging Services, Laboratory Services, Therapies, General Services, Ancillary and Support Services and Facilities. In addition, this Vice President is responsible for Peri-Operative Services across the entire health system, inpatient and outpatient. They will participate in strategic planning along with the Executive team and assist with the formation, interpretation and implementation of policy; institute actions or activities to facilitate accountability and management of divisional leadership staff. Position works with fellow executive staff of Asante, its affiliate organizations, the medical staff and the community. This is an on-site position based in Medford, Oregon.

The 378-bed flagship institution, Asante Rogue Regional Medical Center (ARRMC), is a regional referral and trauma center featuring the latest medical technology and clinical expertise. Asante Ashland Community Hospital (AACH), located 13 miles away from Medford in Ashland, is a 49-bed community hospital that features a birthing center, surgery center, diagnostic imaging, laboratory, emergency services, and respiratory testing. Asante Three Rivers Medical Center (ATRMC), located 30 miles away from Medford in Grants Pass, is a 125-bed modern hospital that offers a variety of high-quality medical services based around general and acute care.

ARRMC has a new 6 floor, 323,000 square foot, $455 million patient pavilion under construction which is expected to open in February 2024. Connecting to the existing six-floor inpatient tower, the addition will make more space available for people needing emergency care, women's and children's services, heart care and surgery.

Asante has a strong balance sheet and a 2.8% operating margin and 6% EBIDA with revenues of approximately $1.1 billion. With 75% market share in its primary service area, Asante enjoys a positive reputation in the local community and has approximately 6,000 employees.

This Vice President of Operations will bring a systems' thinking orientation to areas managed, help activate the new patient pavilion, continually improve quality performance and employee engagement, improve practice and operational efficiency and grow service lines in ambulatory settings to better serve the general market. This individual is expected to form positive working relationships with all levels of the organization and medical staff.

The successful candidate will have a minimum of seven years of leadership experience in a high-performing hospital overseeing peri-operative services, multiple departments and ideally multiple sites. Must have strong operational capabilities and proven success working cooperatively with a variety of internal and external stakeholders. Candidates must be highly relationship-driven and reinforce a team-based culture.

A master's degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Nursing or related field, or equivalent experience in lieu of degree, is required.

Reporting Relationships

The Vice President of Operations reports directly to the Senior Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer for Asante. Reporting to the Vice President of Operations are 12 direct reports in the following departments: Perioperative, Pharmacy, Imaging, Lab, Therapies, General Services, Ancillary and Support Services, and Facilities.
