The Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center has an exciting opportunity for a Full-Time Translator to work on the UHealth Campus. The Translator converts written and spoken information from one language to another, ensuring to maintain the original meaning, format, and tone. This position is part of the Behavioral and Community-Based Research Shared Resource (BCSR) which will provide professional level support and coordination for research and administrative related activities. The incumbent will implement day-to-day activities related to research protocol.

  • Communicate with research investigators regarding requests for the translation of study documents.

  • Review IRB approved study documents in preparation for translation.

  • Assists BCSR management in assessing study documents for the preparation of quotes .

  • Maintains logs/progress reports to track progress of pending and upcoming translation requests.

  • Organizes and handles the flow of translation requests from study investigators

  • Translate study documents in a timely and accurate manner.

  • Establishes/maintains contact with patient/participants, health care providers, community agencies and study sponsors.

  • Maintains database and enters data appropriately. Ensures data integrity and consistency in computer database and written records. Maintains consent forms, all other documentations and sponsor correspondences.

  • Attend meetings with research team members as needed.

  • Prepares monthly tracking reports.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent, Bachelor's degree preferred

  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience

  • Translator certified in the State of Florida with two years of relevant work experience. A research background and familiarity with medical terminology is preferred.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Highly organized and detail-oriented.

  • Knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to work independently and collaborate with a team. Fluency in both English and Spanish required.
