Job description

• Work safely, promote safety and abide by all safety rules.
• Analyze specifications such as prints, sketches, models, or descriptions, to determine materials required and machines to be used to fabricate tooling.
• Design blanking, piercing, forming dies as well as jigs and fixtures.
• Calculates dimensions, plan layout, and determines assembly method and sequence of operations.
• Conceptualize and design precision tooling based on customer’s requirements and specifications.
• Create tooling lists of all required tooling for each operation.
• Continuous improvement projects.
• Develop and apply standards to assure conformity.
• Actively maintains and improves knowledge of tool design, machines, engineering standards, procedures, new technology through personal training and education.
• Measures, marks, and scribes metal stock for machining.
• Works with tool makers to set up and operate machine tools such as lathes, milling machine, and grinder, to machine parts, and verifies conformance of machined parts to specifications.
• Verifies dimensions, alignments, and clearances.
• Interacts with outside vendors as required.
• Develops specifications from general descriptions for specialty tools and draws or sketches design of product.
• Demonstrate an ability to multitask and prioritize work load to meet deadlines.
• Responsible for accuracy and completeness of work to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Able to update data collection systems.
• Maintains work area clean and orderly.
• Conduct test runs with completed tools or dies to ensure that parts meet specifications; make adjustments as necessary.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.00 - $32.00 per hour
