Responsibilities for Toddler Teacher

• Plan and deliver lessons designed to facilitate each child’s social, emotional, and cognitive development
• Encourage self-expression through understanding, flexibility, and behavioral reinforcement
• Ensure that the classroom remains safe and conducive to learning at all times
• Tend to each child’s basic needs by feeding and dressing them
• Model appropriate behaviors and mediate conflict between students
• Maintain ongoing, open communication with parents and caregivers on their child’s progress
• Collaborate with children’s families to ensure a smooth transition from home to the child care setting

Qualifications for Toddler Teacher

• High School Diploma or equivalent; 1 year working with children, CDA or currently enrolled in an early childhood program preferred
• Creative and imaginative activity planning
• Possess a passion for early childhood development
• Display compassion, patience and kindness towards all children
• Able to maintain an overall positive and professional disposition
• Reliable transportation and attendance
• Prepared to pass a state mandated background check
