Woodfords is actively hiring Ed Tech IIs & Ed Tech IIIs for our Kindergarten through 5th Grade Special Purpose Private School Program on our Westbrook Campus.

Position is eligible for $1,500 bonus payable after 6 months of employment.

SUMMARY

Woodfords Family Services is seeking dynamic individuals to join our new Kindergarten through 5th Grade Special Purpose School Programs in Southern Maine as Ed Tech IIs and Ed Tech IIIs in our Special Purpose Private School classrooms.

This new program will serve children who have been with Woodfords for preschool and could benefit from more time in the program before transitioning to public school, as well as children from surrounding school districts who may benefit from additional support.

  • Teacher's Assistants work in classrooms with school-age children ages 5 to 10 with autism and developmental disabilities.
  • Teach our students skills to help them be successful at home, in school and in the community.
  • Teacher's Assistants positively affect the lives of our students, and get to be part of a team that celebrates students' successes.
  • Teacher's Assistants needed to join our programs in Westbrook and New Gloucester


SCHEDULE

  • Monday - Friday
  • 8am to 4pm
  • Full-time Teacher's Assistants work 40 hours weekly
  • Our K-5 special purpose schools are open year-round

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ed Tech II
    • A minimum of 60 credit hours required; Associate's degree preferred, in special education, early childhood or a related field.
  • Ed Tech III
    • A minimum of 90 credit hours required; Bachelor's degree preferred, in special education, early childhood or a related field.
  • A minimum of two years of professional experience working with children who have special needs, is preferred
  • Ability to work a year-round, Monday-Friday 8:00 am - 3:30 pm schedule
  • Good documentation skills
  • A positive attitude and high energy level


ROLE

Woodfords' Ed Tech IIs and Ed Tech IIIs:

  • Work directly with Kindergarten through 5th grade students providing hands on guidance while helping them meet their individualized goals.
  • Guide students toward fulfilling their potential for cognitive, social and emotional growth and maturation.
  • Teach students the skills they need to be prepared for elementary school and beyond.
  • Are an important member of our Special Purpose Private School program, work independently with a child, and cooperatively with a team.

PAID TRAINING & CERTIFICATION

  • We will teach you the skills and strategies needed to be successful as a Teacher within our K-5 Special Purpose School program.
