Salary Update
For the 2022-2023 school year, Rocky Mountain Prep has increased its salary for Lead Teachers.

This is a full-time, benefits-eligible position with a salary range of $58,000 - $85,000. Salary is dependent on the number of years you've been teaching. Years count as full years spent Lead Teaching in American public K-12 schools and public Pre-K programs.

During the 2022-2023 school year, RMP is driving after five big goals:
1. Kindergarten through 2nd-grade students will grow, on average, 1.25 years in math and reading. Pre-K students will grow on average 1 year.
2. 50% of 3rd to 5th-grade students will read a million words.
3. 3rd-grade through 5th-grade students taking CMAS will score an average of 45 % on track for the next grade level with 10% scoring exceeding expectations.
4. At least 90% of students who start at RMP, stay at RMP.
5. Teacher retention will be at least 85%.

Each member of the organization plays a part in achieving these goals. School-based staff members will work towards 2 or 3 metrics that are aligned to both their individual roles AND the Big 5.


In this role, you will:

  • Implement the Gifted Talented program by providing sessions 2-3 times per week in small groups with differentiated projects
  • Hold quarterly showcases for parents after school
  • Write Advanced Learning Plans within the first 30 days of school
  • Manage Universal Screening (CogAT and NNAT)
  • Support teachers with testing in universal screening gradesDevelop a body of qualifying evidence for qualifying students
  • Ensure Gifted programming is in place for each student - Academic and Affective
  • Progress monitor Advance Learning Plans (twice a year)Create and manage a Talent Pool Assign and score SIGS (Scales for Identifying Gifted Students) for any potential candidates
  • Manage IOWA testing
  • ID Certification meetings
  • Analyze CMAS, STAR, and other standardized assessments to flag potential candidates
  • Attend monthly meetings with DPS advisors
  • Coordinate with MTSS director, principal, and DPSGT parent presentation at Welcome event on a Saturday 3 or more Schoology classes: Gifted and Talented Universal Screening Training, Gifted, and Talented New Teacher/ Point of Contact Training, Gifted, and talented Identification Pathways
  • 6-8 Hours each Semester of Coursework through DPS/APS for GT certification
  • Formal meetings with teachers, students, and families

Qualifications:

  • Required
  • Bachelor’s and/or master’s degree (any subject)
  • Completion of CDE READ Act training and/or CDE Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CLD) 45 contact hours
  • Pass a background check
  • Demonstrate eligibility to work in the United States

Must possess one or more of the following:
  • Current Colorado teaching license with elementary education endorsement
  • An official transcript demonstrating a degree (graduate or undergraduate) in elementary education

  • Preferred
  • Minimum two years of lead teaching experience. (We define lead teachers as the primary teacher in the classroom who was responsible for all academic content.)
  • Experience with progress monitoring, data collection, and analysis
  • Understanding of Gifted learners
  • Passion for data-driven decision making
  • Desire to foster gifted potential within our students
  • Team player who values collaboration with multiple stakeholders

Salary

  • This is a full-time, benefits-eligible position with a salary range of $58,000 - $85,000. Salary is dependent on the number of years you've been teaching. Years count as full years spent Lead Teaching in American public K-12 schools and public Pre-K programs.
  • Teachers will have the option to apply for additional leadership roles if they wish. These leadership roles come with stipends ranging from $1,000 - $3,000.
  • Teachers are also eligible for performance base pay, $1,000 per metric if they meet the data metrics (goals) for their role
