The Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) is the state agency that focuses solely on policies, programs, and services for people with mental health challenges, substance use disorders, intellectual and developmental disabilities, or any combination of these. As Georgia’s public safety net, DBHDD operates six field offices and five hospitals throughout the state within three program areas: behavioral health, developmental disabilities and hospital services.


The main office for DBHDD is located in downtown Atlanta.


Job Description


Job Title: Talent Acquisition Specialist


Pay Grade: H


Job Summary:

  • Conduct full-cycle recruiting for assigned hospital positions
  • Provide guidance and consultation to the hospital staff regarding effective and successful recruitment strategies
  • Develop and maintain effective recruitment programs to obtain qualified candidates to fill job vacancies
  • Source, screen, qualify and interview candidates from a variety of proven recruiting sources
  • Represent the hospital at job/career fairs
  • Make presentations
  • Network with community and/or civic groups
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Minimal travel (less than 10% of total work time)

Preferred Skills/Qualifications: Preference will be given to candidates who, in addition to meeting the minimum qualifications, demonstrate some or all the following skills/experience:


  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field
  • Supervisory role working in a high volume, full cycle recruiting environment.
  • Hospital experience recruiting health care professionals i.e. Registered Nurses, Social Workers, Food Service, Housekeeping etc.
  • Customer Service experience
  • Experience using PeopleSoft HRIS, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Applicant Tracking System (Taleo)
  • Excellent prioritization, organization, and time management skills.
  • Possess excellent analytical skills along with oral and written communications skills
  • Have a valid State of Georgia driver’s license
