Duties and Responsibilities

  • Instill Safety as a top priority.
  • Support a team consisting of Survey Manager, Project Manager, Project Engineers, Superintendents, Grade Foremen, and other staff.
  • Build relationships and communicate with owners, design partners, & workforce.
  • Create and manage 3D models and designs for field users to perform layout work.
  • Understand and assist with project layout.
  • Perform earthwork quantity takeoffs from field survey data.
  • Assist with delivery, inventory, and warehousing of materials and equipment.
  • Resolve field problems and conflicts with subcontractors, suppliers, and workforce.
  • Maintaining as-built drawings, survey records, and manuals.
  • Attend and/or lead meetings.
  • Other duties as appropriately assigned.


Experience, Education and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Civil Engineering, or Construction Management, or equivalent experience.
  • RPLS (MN) or CST III/IV license is preferable.
  • Must be competent in the use of computer software applications used for project control and administration, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, and Bluebeam.
  • At least 3 years’ experience working with Trimble Business Center.
  • Must have strong knowledge and experience of the fundamentals of surveying, as well as familiarity with Trimble’s suite of civil construction field equipment and software.
  • Strong communication skills both written and oral.
  • Good attention to detail with the ability to recognize discrepancies.
  • Must have a positive attitude and possess excellent motivational skills.
  • Time Management, organization, and prioritization skills are crucial.
  • Must have a valid Driver’s License.
  • 3 or more years’ experience in highway heavy construction.
