We are currently seeking a Recreation Supervisor to serve as part of the Recreation & Neighborhood Parks Division, within the PRNR Department. This position exercises extensive initiative and independent judgement while overseeing multiple recreation facilities and staff throughout the County. This position works largely with community engagement and facilitates numerous events and programs to include Summer Camp at our various parks, small community events such as Halloween Movie Night, Big Truck Day at Cool Today stadium, and much more. • Facility Management and Program Delivery through the utilization existing policies and procedures and the CAPRA and ACA accreditation process
• Innovatively plans, develops, implements, promotes and directs a broad program of activities, programs, and services offered Countywide and at recreation facilities.
• Maintains effective relations with a variety of community organizations, groups, and the public.
• Works closely with County staff to provide comprehensive recreation services to County residents and to solve a broad range of service delivery, community and administrative problems.
• Handles citizen complaints and explains County ordinances, policies, and procedures.
• Function as a liaison with various user groups and organizations.
• Plans, organizes, assigns, supervises, reviews and evaluates the work of assigned staff.
• Coordinates any concerns in the division through Facilities Maintenance and/or Parks Maintenance Staff.
• Assists in the preparation of annual budget; Assists in administering the budget for accounts directly related to assigned areas or activities.
• Assists with contract management.
• Prepares a variety of periodic and special reports related to recreation programs, facilities, revenue, expenditures, and recreation data collection.
• Develops and writes procedures and manuals. Ensures compliance to county guidelines, policies and procedures.
• Ensure proper implementation of pricing plan. Monitors account receivables.
• Assists with attaining and maintaining CAPRA and ACA accreditation for the Parks, Recreation and Natural Resources Department.
• Manages, directs, coaches, mentors, trains, evaluates, disciplines and supervises direct staff.
• Ensures the proper supervision, training, coaching, and evaluation on subordinate staff.
• Works with team to ensure full operational support for summer camp, community wide events and programming.
• Manages proactive assessments of fraud awareness, prevention, detection and risk mitigation activities in area of responsibility; oversees financial, compliance, operational and performance audits; reviews audit findings and ensures appropriate controls are established and implemented.

About You

Minimum Qualifications:

• A Bachelor’s Degree from accredited college or university in Recreation, Leisure Services, or closely related field.
• OR An Associate’s Degree with AND two (2) years of experience.
• OR Four (4) years of professionally related experience in Recreation can substitute on a year-for-year basis for the required college education, subject to managements discretion.
• CPR / AED or must attain within six (6) months from date of hire.
• A valid state driver’s license.

Pay: $50,044.80 - $65,208.00
