OFFICIAL TITLE: Staff Associate, Early College Program Coordinator
SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Vice President for Enrollment Management
SUPERVISION EXERCISED: May supervise part-time, non-benefited and student employees as assigned

General Statement of Duties: The Staff Associate, Early College Program Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating all aspects of the 100 Males to College Program, the Early College Worcester Program, dual enrollment under the Springfield Empowerment Zone Program, and other dual and concurrent enrollment programs. The incumbent is responsible for logistics, programming, communications, planning, grant management, recruitment and registration, and wrap-around planning.

Responsibilities:

  • (E) Coordinates the 100 Males to College Program, the Early College Worcester Program, dual enrollment under the Springfield Empowerment Zone Program, and other dual and concurrent enrollment programs.
  • (E) Collaborates with internal and external constituents related to the coordination of each program, including faculty, staff, and external colleges and schools.
  • (E) Identifies college courses for programs with program partners.
  • (E) Identifies and secures faculty to teach courses with department chairs and/or academic dean.
  • (E) Establishes courses with the Division of Graduate and Continuing Education.
  • (E) Monitors post-award grants related to programs in collaboration with the finance and grants offices.
  • (E) Collaborates with the Assistant Vice President of Academic Affairs to ensure a smooth interface with the programs' near-peer mentors and other student supports.
  • (E) Collaborates with the Office of Multicultural Affairs on all aspects of the workshop, field trip, and wraparound services in their office.
  • (E) Develops, coordinates, and implements orientation programs for program participants, their families, and other stakeholders.
  • (E) Communicates students' status, progress, grades, and other information with relevant partners.
  • (E) Collaborates with the Vice President for Enrollment Management on project objectives, evaluation, assessment, and reporting.
  • (E) Liaises with consortium group representatives, such as the Early College Worcester leadership team, on all aspects of the respective program's planning and implementation.
  • (E) Completes requirements of applications and post-award processes to meet grant and other funding requirements.
  • (E) Demonstrates civility and professional, customer-service oriented behavior, worthy of emulation by other staff and students.
  • (E) Responsible for contributing to the WSU Strategic Plan.
  • (E) Responsible for contributing to Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action objectives.

Job Requirements:


Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Ability to traverse multiple bureaucratic agencies to accomplish goals
  • Strong attention to detail with ability to perform responsibilities without error
  • Ability to work independently, think critically, analyze information, and develop strategies to address issues, find solutions, and perform responsibilities with minimal support
  • Knowledge of higher education principles, practices, and/or procedures
  • Ability to work well with diverse populations from varied backgrounds
  • Strong computer skills
  • Ability to successfully pass a thorough background and CORI check.
  • Ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience coordinating youth or other educational programs.




Additional Information:


This is a full-time, benefited, exempt, professional APA position. The firm starting annual salary range for this position is $50,000, commensurate with relevant professional experience and education.
