Job Description:
  • Sensory evaluation – conduct sensory evaluation for all products produced and report any sensory issues
  • Retain area – oversee the retain area and make sure the retains are rotated as necessary
  • Understand with ability to adjust and implement procedure around BRC (GFSI) codes
  • Positive Release Program – release product every morning based on final micro testing
  • Responsible for final micro reports and lab matrix – review reports and log into lab matrix
  • Responsible for NCR’s from opening to disposition – issue NCR’s as needed and give resolutions
  • Responsible for inventory at all DC’s including Cambridge that were placed on HOLD or product that needs to be released after final micro – oversee all DC’s to make sure we are not holding any product that can be put into commerce
  • Hold Report – generated weekly should be reviewed and maintained so held or block inventory gets dispositioned in a timely manner
  • Issue COA’s for customer after reviewing final micro results – send COA’s to customer(s) after review
  • Check COA’s being received from suppliers for raw materials – check COA’s sent to us from suppliers
  • Check and review samples of roll stock or cartons that are received for production to make sure they correspond to the PDM on file – do a visual inspection of the paper / carton received against know PDF files showing the current layout for the paper / carton
  • Oversee the Technical Document Coordinator – handling out all work instructions to make sure task are completed in a timely manner. The Technical Document Coordinator falls under the Sr. Quality Specialist with a direct report to the Q. A. Manager
  • Production records – responsible for all production folders in making sure they are complete, including the review by the Technical Document Coordinator, USDA pH results (when USDA products are produced), and micro results are part of the completed folder. Keep production folders neat and organized throughout shelf life of product, and beyond.
  • Customer concerns – assist in the investigation and response letter to the THS Consumer Affairs team when a customer concern is received.
  • Ordering supplies – provide information for supplies to be ordered through Q. A. Coordinator (who in turns start the purchase order process by issuing a purchase order requisition). Supplies can range from office supplies to anything needed for the Q. A. Techs to perform their task.
  • Customer Samples – assist with customer sample request to visually look at the samples before they are shipped to the customer and any way help is needed.
  • USDA Inspector(s) – maintain an open communication between the USDA Inspector(s) and the plant. providing insight to the Q. A. Manager as necessary on any USDA concerns or comments.
  • Export Certificates – handle all export certificates for items being ship out of the US to customers or our production facility in Richmond Hill, Canada
  • Perform mock recalls – perform mock recalls as set forth in our quality handbook ( to recalls per year not counting any recalls requested during audits).
  • Assist with audits when needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
