Job Description

Reporting to the Assistant Director of Operations, the Sr. Fiscal and Program Technician provides financial and administrative support for the Department of Biomedical Engineering and Mechanics (BEAM). Responsibilities will include assisting faculty and their assigned students with travel arrangements and processing reimbursements via Chrome River, ordering supplies and equipment in Hokiemart and via P-card, as well as providing general administrative and fiscal assistance to assigned faculty, instructors, and graduate students. This position will also provide financial assistance across the Department by assisting with personnel transactions including labor redistributions, salary allocations, and processing P-10’s.This position will reconcile and resolve outstanding encumbrance issues involving accounts payables and travel, assist with cash handling/deposits and records management and fixed assets/inventory administration.

Required Qualifications

• Previous experience performing fiscal and administrative duties in a professional setting including purchasing and travel arrangements and reimbursements
• Previous experience working with large enterprise database systems involving financial information.
• Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook)
• Ability to communicate effectively and tactfully in writing and verbally with diverse constituencies both internally and externally

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree
• Previous higher education and experience
• Experience with Banner, Hokiemart, CashNet, MicroStrategy, Chrome River, Time Clock Plus, Labor Redistribution System, ERS, Fintracs, and Fixed Assets system
• Familiarity with VT policies and procedures
