About the Position

We are seeking an experienced accountant who will prepare and approve journal entries and compile financial statements. You will utilize your advanced skills to research and analyze accounting data provided to the management team. You will complete complex reconciliations, analyze/maintain investment activity, prepare regulatory financial reports, and assist the department in monitoring the adequacy of internal controls.

Additionally, as part of our team of professionals, you will participate on and/or lead departmental project teams to implement changes. You will also mentor and share knowledge, ideas, and best practices with the finance team.

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance and five years’ experience in accounting or auditing operations is required. Relevant insurance industry experience (investments, financial statements, statutory accounting) is highly desired.

CPA or CPA-eligible or other accounting certifications (e.g., CMA, CIA) are strongly preferred; other insurance designations or certifications (AIAF, ARC) are highly desirable.

Project team or project lead experience is helpful. A strong level of knowledge of accounting processes and controls is preferred. Active involvement in industry, professional, or community organizations is desirable.
