Job description

We are looking for a Special Education Supervisor starting July 1st. The Special Education Supervisor is responsible for providing leadership, coordination, oversight, and facilitating special education services and programs within the assigned member district(s). Representative duties include: provides training, guidance, oversight, and monitors and ensures compliance with established policies and procedures of the cooperative, the assigned member district(s), and any applicable federal, state, and local laws; in consultation with the director of special education provides technical assistance on legal and regulatory compliance in areas of special education for member district staff and administrator(s); coordinates staff development, facilitates special education transportation, leads special education department meetings, makes recommendations on budgetary needs/requirements and staffing allocations/needs, serves as a resource and liaison between member district(s) and MAWSECO, and assists in the design and implementation of curriculum, instructional methodology, programming, and facility needs.

The primary location for this position will be at the Howard Lake, Waverly, Winsted School District.

Assignment: 8 hours/day for 210 days

Salary: Placement per the Special Education Cooperative Coordinator Group contract, based on applicable experience. Note: Collective bargaining agreement will be renegotiated for the 2023-2025 school years. Position title was recently changed from Special Education Coordinator to Special Education Supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications

• A minimum of:

- A Master’s Degree in Special Education or a closely related field

- At least four years experience in a special education teaching or related services position

-Or an equivalent combination of education and experience

• State of Minnesota Director of Special Education Licensure
• Minnesota driver’s license or evidence of equivalent mobility

MAWSECO is located immediately west of Minneapolis and south of St. Cloud.
