Diagnostic Cardiology

Full Time · Day Shift · 7:00 am - 4:30 pm - 9 hour shift

JOB SUMMARY

The Vascular Specialist /Sonographer reports to the Director of Imaging Services. This individual performs all required ultrasound and clinical evaluations at a technical level not requiring direct supervision. Work is performed with considerable independence. Accurate record-keeping and attention to detail are essential. The Echo / Vascular Sonographer must maintain specialized technical skills and medical knowledge to provide quality patient care to patients of all ages in the field of Echo Cardiography and Vascular Ultrasound.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education:

• 2-year Associates Degree required
• Completion of a Cardiac Echo and Vascular Technology Program. Must be registered or certification eligible.

Experience:

• 0-1-year relevant echo/vascular experience
• Medical Terminology

Other Skills Required:

• Excellent administrative skills required
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills required
• Detail-oriented
• Strong computer skills
• Strong mathematical skills
• Ability to read/comprehend written instructions

Essential Functions:

• Performs clinical assessment and diagnostic vascular laboratory examinations
• Correlates the clinical history with the test to be performed
• Uses sonographic skills to identify and record appropriate anatomical, pathological, and diagnostic images
• Demonstrates responsibility for the safety, mental & physical comfort of patients while in the technologist/Sonographer’s care
• Prepares patients for examinations and explains procedures to patients
• Consults with referring physician and/or patient chart regarding patient’s history to determine appropriate Vascular Lab procedure, when necessary
• Performs all echo & vascular procedures and other requested exams relevant to the Echo / Vascular specialty.
• Consults with the Cardiology Medical Director or Director of Diagnostic Services when necessary

Pay: $57,200.00 - $78,790.00 per year
