The Social Services Information System (SSIS) Help Desk position provides a point of entry for information and all problem resolution for SSIS users, including; counties, combined agencies, three American Indian Child Welfare Initiative Tribes, and State staff (ex: CSP division, OIG Department, and Aging and Adult Services). The position reviews requests and either provides guidance/resolution or determines the best path for resolution. This position utilizes the Help Desk problem report tracking system (CRM).

The position works cooperatively with other help desk staff, SSIS training staff, SSIS Business Operation staff, Policy/Business staff, and MNIT @ DHS staff to ensure effective user support is provided to ensure effective operations within SSIS and to ensure accurate documentation in SSIS that support the policies, practices, and rules for each program area (EX: Foster Care, Child Protection, and Adult Protection) as well as accurate fiscal information.

As the SSIS Help Desk you will be part of the Child Safety and Permanency (CSP) within the Children and Family Administration at DHS. CSP Division supports the broad child welfare work throughout the state as administered by counties and Tribes, including Child Protection Intake, Assessment, Case Management, Foster Care, Adolescent Services, American Indian Child Welfare, and Permanency services.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

To facilitate proper crediting, please ensure that your resume clearly describes your experience in the areas listed and indicates the beginning and ending month and year for each job held.

Two (2) years professional experience in help desk support or human services systems

Experience must demonstrate the following:

  • Knowledge of SSIS systems
  • Knowledge of social services policies and procedures
  • Experience with Automated systems, software support and help desk methodologies
  • Communication skills to convey information, problem solve and translate information

Preferred Qualifications

  • Variety of experiences working effectively with others from different backgrounds and cultures.
  • Analytical skills to identify, observe and gather information
  • Experience using Microsoft products such as Word, Outlook and Dynamics
  • Experience in intercepting, routing, and responding to the needs and questions of users

Additional Requirements

  • Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS) criminal background check will be conducted on all finalists for this position. Finalists must pass the DHS background check.
