We are looking for a CAD designer specialized in site plan layout and drafting. This position will work with the sales team to develop site plans as well as preliminary building floor plans for self-storage facilities. The ideal candidate will have an associates degree or equivalent in CAD drafting as well as two or more years in site plan layout and drafting. Experience in the building construction industry is preferred. Attention to detail and ability to work in a team environment are essential.

Essential Duties:

• Convert hand sketched preliminary site layouts to drafted presentation level drawings using AutoCAD
• Develop preliminary floor plan, building elevation, and isometric drawings with information given by the sales team
• Edit and update drawings based on feedback from the sales team
• Maintain drawing accuracy throughout the revision process
• Maintain document organization using company standards
• Perform other duties as required
• Bring a positive attitude with an understanding of the value of teamwork and outstanding customer service

• Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other Federal, State and local standards
• Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance
• Sit or stand for long periods of time

Qualifications:

• Associates degree or equivalent in CAD drafting
• Two years of experience in laying out and drafting site plans
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit experience preferred
• Great analytical skills and detail oriented
• Strong math skills including trigonometry
• Experience in the building construction industry preferred
• Competency in the use of Excel, Word, and other software applications
• Critical thinking skills and ability to perform self-directed work
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
