The Opportunity

This position works out of our Plymouth, MN location within our Electrophisiology division.

In Abbott’s Electrophysiology (EP) business, we’re advancing the treatment of heart disease through breakthrough medical technologies in atrial fibrillation, allowing people to restore their health and get on with their lives.

As the Site Director, you’ll have the chance lead site operations, including Manufacturing, Finance, Supply Chain, and Operational Excellence. You will maintain a close partnership with all functional areas both at the site and within division. This role operates in a highly regulated environment with complex design and functionality. You must be able to handle a high number of complex financial, analytical, and strategic considerations in critical decision making.

What You’ll Work On

Leadership:
1. Provides strong leadership to the team, promoting a positive and productive work environment, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, and remaining resilient through challenges.
2. Demonstrated ability to improve performance through development of people.
3. Has appropriate energy and leadership skills to motivate staff of all skills/performance levels.

Technical Capability:
1. Effective leadership and ability to drive success across manufacturing operations and quickly adjust direction and resources in a dynamic and rapidly changing market.
2. Ability to leverage past experiences and pattern recognition to effectively recognize business risks/detect early warnings signs.
3. Demonstrated ability to problem solve and improve results with emphasis on effective change management.
4. Assess candidates technical acumen around the following:
a. P&PC
b. Design Controls
c. Ability to identify what technical skills the site needs and map development and hiring strategies against those needs.

Strategic:
1. Develops and executes a clear strategic plan for the site to achieve operational goals.


2. Relentless focus to grow margin, market share and brand awareness.

3. Capable of influencing strategic decision making beyond own functional area.

Talent Development:
1. Dynamic leader, proficient at creating a high-performance culture focused on building and aligning talent to drive sustainable growth.
2. Able to build future Abbott leader pipeline by attracting, developing and retaining top talent.
3. Promotes the movement of key talent within and across Abbott divisions for broad development of business acumen.

Financial Stewardship:
1. Demonstrated experience driving margin growth through manufacturing efficiencies.
2. Proven track record of meeting financial objectives over time.

Required Qualifications

B.S. Degree

Minimum of 10 years experience in roles of increasing responsibility within a manufacturing / operations / supply chain environment is required.

Experience of people leadership is required
