Position Summary

Under the direction of the Service Manager, the Shop Tech will perform various shop duties. Assisting mechanics in repairs, cleaning, receiving/ shipping, washing of equipment and other similar tasks.

Essential Functions of the Job

  • Conduct minor repairs and servicing to equipment as directed by the Service Manager
  • Follow procedures outlined in the work orders and policy handbook
  • Maintain a clean and respectable facility, shop equipment, work environment, and parking areas
  • Assist Heavy Equipment Mechanic as needed
  • Pick up and deliver parts as needed
  • Company supplied uniforms must be worn when conducting company business
  • Maintain and organize shop and storage areas - ensuring proper storage of flammable items
  • Operate all company-owned equipment and vehicles in a safe, lawful, and respectful manner

Knowledge, Skills and, Abilities (KSA's)

  • Must be very organized and possess the ability to multi-task
  • Self-motivated showing complete accountability, timely in all assignments
  • Possess the ability and willingness to learn and possibly advance to Heavy Truck Mechanic
  • Ability to follow detailed written and verbal instructions
  • CDL or the ability to obtain a CDL with tanker and hazmat endorsements, if needed
  • TWIC card or the ability to obtain a TWIC card, if needed

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum one (1) year heavy truck or construction equipment mechanic experience
  • Enrolled in or technical school training in lieu of experience

Working Conditions

  • Shop environment
  • May lift up to 50lbs
  • Ability to stand all-day
  • Frequently stoop, kneel or bend
  • Some field service work
