The LAcarGUY family of dealerships has been a fixture in Southern California since “Sully” Sullivan opened his first dealership, Volkswagen Santa Monica, in 1964.
Having been an integral part of the iconic California surf culture of the 1960’s, the LAcarGUY family of dealerships has grown and transformed over the years. We now include 12 award-winning dealerships throughout the greater Los Angeles area which support world renowned brands such as Audi, Honda, Lexus, Porsche, Subaru, Toyota, and Volkswagen. In June 2021, we opened our 13th dealership with Genesis Santa Monica.

Service Shop Foreman
to join our team.

What Will I Be Doing?
- Coach, Lead, Train, Develop and Supervise all Technicians within the Department.
- Responsible for individual Technician productivity and attaining monthly production hours’ goal for the Service Department.
- Conducts periodic reviews on job statuses to ensure work is being completed as per repair order and manufacturer standards.
- Knowledge of all tools and equipment required to diagnose, troubleshoot, repair and service vehicles.
- Ensure all Certified Pre Owned (CPO) vehicle certifications are properly inspected and documented to meet or exceed manufacturer requirements.
- Ensure technician cause, correction and mileage out are recorded properly on repair order by performing frequent inspections.
- Ensure proper usage of MyKaarma and all other required software.
- Maintain a Fixed Right the First Time average equal to or above national average.
- Assists the Service Manager in the Performance and Corrective Action Review process for Service Team Members.
- Assume responsibility for any vehicle that has returned due to a failed repair attempt; which includes overseeing the repair and quality control check of the vehicle.
- Maintains the shop (up-to-date) on computer and diagnostic equipment updates and performs software upgrades. Keeps all shop equipment calibrated periodically and as directed by the Service Manager and/or Vice President of Fixed Operations.
- Monitors shop capacity and advises Service Manager of limitations or constraints.
- Ensures that all required safety policies, practices and procedures, training and SOP’s are followed by the Service Department Team.
- Conducts periodic quality control evaluations on completed jobs.
- Ensures proper Repair Order (RO) flow within the Service Department to satisfy the requirements of warranty, dealership, business office and other stakeholders.
- Ensures shop is neat, clean and organized at all times.
Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Individual should possess:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
- Minimum 3 years of Shop Foreman experience
- Ability to maintain required State and County technical qualifications such as A.S.E. and/or County permits.
- Strong Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA’s) surrounding automotive repair, maintenance, diagnostics, tools and systems.
- Outstanding leadership and interpersonal skills which focus on treating employees with respect.
- Strong management skills and time management skills.
- Strong quantitative skills.
- Comfortable with ambiguity in a dynamic, changing environment.
- Unwavering commitment to ethical business practices.
- Understands, keeps abreast of, and complies with federal, state and local regulations that affect service operations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA, Right-To-Know, and other regulations.
- Professional appearance and work ethic
- Valid Driver License and clean driving record.
- All potential employees must pass pre-employment testing including a background check and drug screen
