Position Title: Service Lane Assistant / Primary Shuttle Driver

Department: Service

Reports To: Service Manager

Purpose of the Position:

A support role to aid the Service Managers, Service Advisors, Service Cashier, and others in meeting our customer’s transportation needs and provide the best possible customer service experience.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Actively listens to concerns, takes action to respond to others needs
  • Promotes dealership by presenting professional image, positive attitude, and clean work area
  • Promotes a productive working relationship with others
  • Speaks clearly, concisely and effectively
  • Operates dealership and customer vehicles in a safe manner while obeying all laws and dealership policies
  • Works efficiently to be as productive as possible at all times
  • Complete facilities inspection weekly and lays out a needs list for the coming week.
  • Make all decisions and perform all actions in adherence to our dealerships core values of integrity, respect, accountability, dedication and community mindedness
  • Crosstrains and fills in the Service Cashier role as needed.
  • Able to access Google chrome and utilize Google docs and sheets.

Daily Tasks:

  • Be at work area ready to start working at assigned time
  • Prepares service lane to open readiness status, lane clear, lights on, signage and cones out front
  • Reviews Shuttle Tab on DHI Drive to determine needed customer vehicle pick up and deliveries for the day
  • Performs and coordinates all customer vehicle pick up and deliveries
  • Provides customer shuttle service when needed
  • Keeps service lane free of vehicles that have completed the service check in process
  • Pulls completed customer vehicles to designated area when directed for customer pick up
  • Keeps all service area parking organized and keeps prime front parking spots clear for arriving customers
  • Maintain cleanliness of service lane area to a high level to include cleaning floor, emptying trash, cleaning windows and doors, vacuuming and anything else that will enhance the customer experience
  • Tag customer service vehicles during peak times when advisors can not keep up
  • Move vehicles between dealership, tire store, detail building and technician bays as directed
  • Maintain cleanliness of shuttle van
  • Maintain cleanliness, location and mileage logs of company loaner vehicles
  • Fuel vehicles as directed
  • Spot clean customer vehicles when needed as directed
  • Perform any support role tasks possible to keep other personnel in their work space and productive

Physical Requirements:

  • Moving about the dealership to complete tasks
  • Standing for 6 to 8 hours in a shift
  • Normal color vision and depth perception. Visual acuity correctable to 20/20
  • Ability to read information from printed sources and computer screens
  • Frequent bending, stretching, lifting, reaching, and climbing
  • Utilizing physical and manual dexterity, repetitive hand movements
  • Lifting up to 70 lbs unassisted and assisting other employees to lift heavier objects

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or the equivalent. Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information.
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record

Monday - Friday 7:30 am - 5:30 pm
