The Senior Manager of Inventory Management and Deployment is responsible for a team that executes the production planning and inventory management of all purchased items as well as the deployment of all finished goods SKU's within the Del Monte network. As Del Monte becomes more of a global sourcing company, this role is critical in the execution of our longer-term supply chain strategy. Relative to product deployment, this role is responsible for one of the key levers the company manages to ensure both lowest landed cost and highest customer service metrics are realized.

The salary range for this role is: $101,296 - $182,208.

Responsibilities:

A successful incumbent is expected to (i) be a collaborative leader for the Supply Chain team and support direct reports in their functional tasks and career development, (ii) drive operational excellence across areas of safety, quality, service and financial management, (iii) cultivate relationships with our customer partners across Supply Chain functions (e.g., Replenishment, Supply Planning, Transportation, Vendor Compliance, etc.), (iv) partner with multiple internal stakeholders, including Supply Chain, Operations, Demand Planning, Sales, and Finance, (v) support effective and efficient functioning of supply chain-related service, as well as contributing to longer-term initiatives around maximizing OTIF, Sales, Forecast Accuracy and Collaboration, and minimizing Cost to Serve, (vi) apply high technical aptitude by leveraging metrics and analytics to assess and improve supply chain functions, including managing large amounts of dynamic data and working directly in customer systems.

Manage a deployment team that plans and executes all planning and deployment of all finished goods in the network.

  • Manage the execution of deployment orders for all finished goods in SAP APO from point of manufacture into the DC network with the focus of shipping at minimum cost while maintaining 98% order fill rates.
  • Highlight projected supply issues to the organization and communicate recovery and availability dates to Sales, Customer Service, and other internal stakeholders.
  • Ensure timely and effective communication through IBP process when delays or changes occur to align on priorities.
  • Generate and manage on going shipping requirements in SAP APO to ensure maintain target weeks of supply (WOS) in the network through the planning horizon.
  • Track shipping adherence and attainment metrics and drive issues to resolution as appropriate.
  • Support capacity planning activities to ensure the delivery of the long-range plan and volume forecast.

Inventory Management (maintaining appropriate inventory levels throughout the network).

  • Help develop and support strategies that optimize inventory levels to deliver lowest supply chain network costs while maintaining customer service levels.
  • Lead root cause analysis in identifying supply chain execution issues across the network and help develop solves to mitigate and resolve for the future.
  • Take leadership role in reviewing and refining inventory target for all items/DC combinations in the network.
  • Support the management of the discontinuation process for all finished goods including development of finished goods and M&S run out plans.
  • Analyze and adjust forecasts based on product movement, seasonality, market trends, and promotional activity; and is responsible for ensuring product availability by identifying and resolving potential stock issues.
  • Analyze inventory trends, create action and mitigation plans, lead projects, run scenarios and project future inventory levels.
  • Conduct key category long-term capacity and replenishment strategy assessments and recommendations to business leadership.

Cross Functional Team Involvement (participating in various joint efforts to reach company objectives).

  • Examples are new product launches, special seasonal promotion initiatives, process improvement exercises, and label, packaging, and configuration changes.

Qualifications:

  • BA/BS in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Business or Logistics Management (or other related discipline).
  • APICS certification preferred.
  • Minimum 6-8 years of experience in Supply Chain, deployment, production planning, or other related experience.
  • Must have experience in Production/manufacturing environment, ideally in consumer-packaged goods in the food industry.
  • Ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience using SAP APO (or similar ERP system) for production planning and Inventory Management.
  • Deep understanding of Inventory Management principles and systems in any or all Retail, eCommerce, and Wholesale.
  • Experience with Supply Chain Management and demand-based replenishment strategy.
  • Experience with S&OP processes and procedures, customer planning and/or supply planning.
  • Experience with some or all aspects of the supply chain, including planning, purchasing, transportation, warehousing, deployment, and inventory management is ideal.
  • Versed in supply chain financial metrics.
  • Superior analytical skills, with ability to dive in and quickly understand root cause and identify scalable solutions.
  • Proven ability to define performance measures directly related to business and hold people accountable for such.
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically and directionally while also able to understand and account for detailed operational realities.
  • Demonstrated understanding of supply chain product flows in a manufacturing and/or retail/ecommerce environment.
  • Agile learner and ability to operate and balance risk in a fast paced, changing environment.
  • Experience with Supply Chain IT transaction systems and information flow. Experience with advanced planning or demand planning software experience preferred.
  • Experience with using a balanced scorecard to track performance.
  • Excellent customer service focus and results oriented.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Talent for data mining and analysis. Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Access, and Data Visualization Tools. Proficiency with SAP APO and BW.
