    PURPOSE

      The Senior Human Resource Generalist oversees and assists the Director of Human with recruiting, onboarding, leave administration, payroll entry and employee relations, providing assistance to employees and managers on general workplace concerns. The Sr. Human Resource Generalist ensures consistent application of Agency polices and regulatory compliance.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

      Under the direction of the Director of Human Resources, the Senior Human Resource Generalist:

      • Administers various human resources plans, procedures, and processes for all Agency personnel.
      • Participates in developing departmental goals and objectives.
      • Administers personnel policies and procedures; prepares and maintains handbook on policies and procedures; updates employee handbook as necessary.
      • Develops and reports appropriate metrics and data to project trends and evaluate agency performance.
      • Under the direction of the Director of Human Resources, handles employee relations counseling and management coaching.
      • Prepares payroll entry forms, employee change forms, and other status changes.
      • Monitors unemployment claims and acts as organization representative for appeals.
      • Maintains compliance with federal and state regulations.
      • Responds to general benefit inquiries, prepares and provides benefit participation data to DHMC Benefits Team.
      • Processes and monitors Leave of Absence requests/approvals and FMLA Tracking.
      • Liaison between 403b vendor and VNH employees, answering general inquiries, and prepares data for annual census reconciliation.
      • Ensures all Workers’ Compensation Claims are processed timely and acts as liaison with insurance company, employee, supervisor, and agency.
      • Manages and tracks ADA issues and assures the Agency is in compliance; arranges for ergonomics assessments as necessary
      • Oversees the full-cycle hiring process including recruiting, onboarding, and orientation.
      • There may be an occasional need to travel to the different drop sites located in Bradford, Brattleboro, Randolph, and Springfield to address different employee needs or functions of HR.
    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
      • Three to five years of experience within Human Resources
      • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field is preferred, but not required.
      • HR certification is a plus (SHRM, PHR, etc.)
      • Technical and functional knowledge of federal and state (VT and NH) employment and labor laws; including, but not limited to FMLA, ADA, STD, ERISA, and various benefit plans

Schedule: Full Time, Days, M - F, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
