We're seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to join our team. Duties & Responsibilities:

Assist in Month end close:

· Validate the cost of goods sold and prepare monthly cost reports

· Analyze and accurately report current month’s financial results

· Discuss operating variances clearly and concisely

· Provide assessment of opportunities to improve results

· Update monthly rolling sales forecast in collaboration with VP of Sales

· Prepare balance sheet reconciliations

Analyze manufacturing costs

· Assess current years’ cost of materials, labor and overhead in developing subsequent year’s standards

· Periodically compare standard material and labor costs to actual production costs

· Collaborate with Industrial Engineering to understand variances in labor and materials

· Perform walkthroughs of the plant with the manufacturing team to discuss production and costing issues, attend relevant production meetings

· Determine costs for new products/new government bids, present to management

· Analyze changes in product design, raw materials, manufacturing methods or services provided

· Ensure supporting documentation is maintained in an orderly fashion

· Lead year end physical inventory count and valuation including LIFO calculations

· Investigate and explain book to physical adjustments

· Analyze potential excess and obsolete inventory

Participate in special projects

· Cost improvement initiatives, make vs. buy, purchasing options

· Assist in implementation of ERP/MRP/GL systems

· Provide data, metrics and business case analysis for projects

Other ad-hoc analysis as required

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting with minimum 3 years managerial or cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment; CPA or MBA desirable, project based governmental accounting preferred; must be proficient in advanced Excel (conditional formatting, arrays, pivots, lookups). Demonstrated financial acumen, experience delivering budgeting and variance analysis required; Strong systems orientation, ERP system experience required.
