Description:
AZDS is looking for a new Senior Director of Web Development to direct the business operations of the company’s robust team of internal developers who build and innovate technology solutions that power our industry-leading websites, digital applications, and SaaS booking engine products for the world’s leading luxury travel companies.

This role will set the strategic vision and innovation roadmap for the company, rigorously track levels of effort against budgeted expense, direct resourcing and capacity models, drive platform optimizations, and identify new digital experiential areas for the company to expand into.

The ideal candidate is an exceptional tech leader, with experience in strategically leading digital development teams to deliver industry-leading platform solutions for forward-thinking digital innovators.

This role will manage AZDS’ dispersed team of global development staff based around the world, and serve as the US-based conduit between our Business and Development teams.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Design multi-year roadmap and technology strategy for large scale revenue and traffic generating websites, applications, SaaS products and digital solutions.
  • Define annual Development Team goals, priorities and hold teams accountable to prioritizations and most material efforts.
  • Lead capacity modeling and resource appropriation to ensure streamlined efficiencies and maximization of profitability.
  • Direct research efforts to acquire learnings and make data-informed decisions based on user behavior to optimize and enhance platforms and products.
  • Direct technology processes such as development sprints, releases, Q/A, issues management, load/performance testing, and others.
  • Lead process for scoping new development features and creating repeatable process for project quoting.
  • Direct process for systems integrations.
  • Serve as the primary technical contact for third-party partners and vendors, identify and document integration points with third party solutions to manage risk accordingly.
  • Manage long term development projects to successful completion, conduct meetings to review project risks, issues and develop mitigation and contingency plans where required.
  • Prepare and deliver proposals and presentations in addition to regular project documentation such as schedules, status reports and technical documentation.
  • Review contract and vendor documentation and experience and craft proposal and support-level agreements.
  • Define and document best practices and contribute to company knowledge sharing effort.
  • Deliver best-in-class websites, digital platforms, and new product features, bug-free, on-time, and on-budget.
  • Direct scheduling, time tracking, leadership development, and overall resource management, for globally-dispersed teams.
Job Requirements:
  • 8+ years developing and leading large-scale technology engagement at a senior leadership level.
  • Advanced knowledge of programming languages such as PHP, MySQL, Angular, Symfony, etc. and the ability to propose alternative solutions and cost-benefit analysis based on these technologies
  • Robust understanding of excellent UX/UI for websites and mobile apps.
  • Deep appreciation and understanding of user experience, including research, user-centered design techniques, information architecture, usability testing, and applying it to create compelling digital experiences for large scale platforms.
  • Expert-level knowledge of object-oriented design concepts, various frameworks, data storage implementations and enterprise design patterns.
  • Knowledge of multiple CMS platforms, such as Wordpress, Contentful and Adobe Experience Manager.
  • Proficiency in UX Pin, Figma, and the Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Proficiency using GitHub, Bamboo, and best practices for version/release management.
  • Experience (working alongside a CTO) with Amazon Web Services for infrastructure management.
  • Up-to-date understanding of market trends and keen interest in following emerging technologies.
  • Experience managing technology teams at scale.
  • Advanced ability to analyze business requirements quickly to determine and assess feasibility.
  • Must have an excellent understanding of best practices across technologies (client/server-side, QA, deployment, project management etc.).
  • Excellent time management, problem solving, teamwork, and communication skills.
  • Experience building applications and websites for large multinational brands.
  • Proven ability to manage large scale technology projects successfully.
  • Experience adapting project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, Lean, Kanban) to the needs of the project.
  • Proficiency in Jira.

Compensation and Perks:

Estimated Base Salary Range: $125,000-$175,000 depending on experience.
