We are looking for a highly motivated individual with a defense travel background to join our PEO USC Front Office Support team supporting Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA). This position is contingent upon your ability to maintain your active Secret level DoD clearance. The ideal candidate will provide expert support in the operation of the Defense Travel System (DTS) to include training, operation, tracking, and administration, as well as providing delinquency reports. The ideal candidate will also perform with limited supervision/direction and regularly exercise discretionary and decision-making authority.

This position will be responsible for managing the daily operation of DTS for customers across the PEO USC portfolio. In this role, you will:

• Serve as the lead travel subject matter expert in PEO USC, managing hundreds of DTS accounts.
• Support DTS booking, management, and en-route assistance to PEO USC personnel, as well as to travelers from the PEO’s constituent program offices.
• Leverage processes, tools, and relationships with key stakeholders to support operation of all DTS related responsibilities.
• Assist PEO USC with travel arrangements in compliance with related defense travel policy and regulations.
• Serve as a liaison between the Approving Officials (AOs), Business Financial Managers, travelers, and the NAVSEA Travel Offices; interface with Government officials and systems to identify and resolve funding issues.
• Use DTS to prepare accurate reimbursement requests, provide delinquency reports, handle all travel issues, and track metrics for PEO USC, including senior leadership.
• Plan and execute hands-on training as required.
• In-process and out-process staff members, establish accounts, and properly clear the DTS queue in a timely manner.

Minimum Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree, or preferred experience.
• A minimum of six (6) years of experience supporting DoD programs, including a minimum of three (3) years of direct experience with DTS.
• An active Secret level DoD clearance is required prior to employment.
• Ability to come to the Washington Navy Yard three (3) days a week.
• Substantial experience managing programs of similar scale (or larger) to this effort.
• Extensive knowledge and experience with travel authorizations, report development, training, operation, tracking, and administration of travel requests.
• Proficiency in interfacing with travelers and stakeholders at all levels of operations as related to customer relations support.
• Proficiency in MS Office products to include Word, Power Point, and Excel.

Preferred Job Requirements:

• 8-10 years of professional experience, including supervisory experience, and expert support in the operation of DTS.
• Advance knowledge of the DTS Policy and Regulations, Defense Joint Travel Regulations, and DoD Financial Management Regulations as they relate to travel policy and compliance, procedures, and regulations.
• Experience in administrative duties, process improvement, large-scale planning, and project management.
