JOB SUMMARY:

The Senior Accountant’s role is to prepare financial reports, perform research and analysis, maintain the general ledger, perform account reconciliations, assist with audit preparations, and carry out other accounting duties as may be required.

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES: *

Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing for the Atlanta office

• Manage various checklists, helping the Accounting Manager produce error-free financial statement for the Atlanta office on a 7- day business cycle
• Assist with balance sheet account reconciliations
• Manage fixed assets
• Record inventory adjustments in accounting system
• Review and approve new inventory items in accounting system
• Enter and post journal entries into the ERP system
• Ensure transactions are posted in accordance with US GAAP
• Maintain historical financial documentation for auditor review and assist with annual audit
• Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
• Oversee collections and past due AR as needed
• Special projects for the Accounting Manager, Controller and CFO

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: *

Education, Experience, Knowledge & Skills: *

*
Accounting degree required

• CPA or CPA track preferred
• In-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Familiarity with financial accounting statements with an ability to spot errors and recommend corrections
• Manufacturing experience a plus
• 4 or more years of full-cycle, corporate accounting experience
• Accuracy and attention to detail with an aptitude for numbers and quantitative skills
• Driven professional looking for a challenge with a growing company
• MS Dynamics-Great Plains or similar ERP experience preferred
• Advanced Excel required (including VLookups and pivot tables)
