The Security Specialists team working at the Communications Center is responsible for a variety of activities at the Walt Disney World including receiving, filtering and delivering information, dispatching Cast Members to incidents, and writing and distributing mass notifications. The team partners and collaborates with others within the Walt Disney World site as well as local, state and Federal law enforcement representatives.

The Security Specialists team working at the Communications Center is responsible for a variety of activities at the Walt Disney World including receiving, filtering and delivering information, dispatching Cast Members to incidents, and writing and distributing mass notifications. The team partners and collaborates with others within the Walt Disney World site as well as local, state and Federal law enforcement representatives.
Responsibilities :
- Receive incoming calls and prioritizes emergency and non-emergency incidents and effectively dispatches Cast Members in a timely manner.
- Audibly intake and transcribe communication, create documentation for leaders using Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) software.
- Research ongoing communication in external markets that can educate and inform leadership regarding incidents affecting property.
- Actively utilize radio telecommunication and computer technology to monitor field operations for Guests and Cast Members.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with Cast Members at all levels and all lines of business to provide excellent service to our Guests and Cast.
- Flexible and adaptable, willing and able to adjust to rapidly changing priorities in a high pressure, fast paced, team environment.
- Capture critical information accurately and quickly in a limited amount of time.
- Ability to multi-task, responsible for listening, entering data, accessing information, and dispatching services at the same time.
- Perform other related tasks and duties as assigned by leadership.
Basic Qualifications :
- Operators are calm under pressure while assessing situations, collecting information, prioritization, and analytical
- Ability to perform as a team player and independently, in a fast paced working environment
- Maintain strict discretion and confidentiality
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
- Experience in fundamental business skills and proficiency in standard office software programs, such as word processing
- Valid Florida Driver's License
Preferred Qualifications:
- Demonstrated knowledge of Walt Disney World property, structures and resources
- Proven knowledge and understanding of Walt Disney World policies and procedures
- One year or more of experience in positions of increasing responsibility within security, military police, law enforcement field, Emergency Management (EM), Emergency Medical Services (EMS), dispatch experience or related discipline
- Certified 911 Dispatcher
- Familiarity with Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) software
- Ability to type 30 WPM

Schedule Availability
- Our Theme Parks and Resort Hotels operate 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and some shifts may start as early as 5:00am while some may end as late as 3:00am, 4:00am, 5:00am
- Full availability for any shift, seven (7) days per week, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Ability to be flexible with work-hours in order to respond to urgent issues, to the situational needs and requirements of the workload.
- The Security Specialist position is a costumed hourly role.
