Overview

This position will assist school administration with planning, developing, and implementing the magnet program as well as ensuring all of the magnet program requirements are met. This person will be an integral part in boosting the academic achievement and attendance of students.

Responsibilities
  • Plans trajectory of all field studies K-5 and ensures they are aligned to grade-level state standards.
  • Assists with the development, revision, and implementation of the school instructional programs to ensure all magnet school requirements are met.
  • Acts as family liaison and facilitates all family tours.
  • Assists in the preparation of special reports on the magnet program.
  • Represents the school at school choice/employment fairs.
  • Coordinates publicity and recruitment activities related to the magnet program which includes managing the school’s social media accounts.
  • Works with SEAD coach to develop and implement a student incentive plan.
  • Evaluates effectiveness of operations and programs in assigned area; identifies and implements improvements or enhancements.
  • Regularly and collaboratively reviews campus and student level data with administrators to drive continuous improvement.
  • Complete assigned duties that align with the strategic direction, mission and vision of HCS.
  • Participate in school, district, and assigned professional development activities.
  • Ensures compliance with district, state and federal policies, regulations and laws.
  • Develops, recommends, and implements budget for assigned area; monitors expenditures to ensure compliance with approved budget.
  • Establishes procedures for ensuring assigned areas are safe.
  • Communicates through the proper channels to keep the Superintendent and other appropriate personnel informed of impending problems.
  • Maintains confidentiality.
  • Adheres to the Teacher Code of Ethics as defined by Tennessee Law.

Qualifications


Knowledge/Education/Experience:

  • Valid state of Tennessee teaching certification. If a valid teaching license is held in another state, you must for a Tennessee teaching license.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of classroom teaching experience.

Skills/Qualifications:

  • Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills to deal effectively with students, educators, parents, and community members.
  • Demonstrate excellent planning, organizational, problem-solving, decision-making, and time management skills.

Compensation:
Salary is based on a combination of relevant education and experience.
