About Joliet
The ExxonMobil Joliet Refinery is located about 40 miles southwest of Chicago in Channahon, Illinois. Residents of the area have access to many local activities, from shopping, dining and museums, to golf courses, parks, trails and auto racing events. Add to these the many opportunities the Chicago metropolitan area, or “Chicagoland,” has to offer, the Joliet Refinery makes a desirable work location.
The Joliet Refinery is the second newest refinery in the United States and will celebrate its 50th year in 2022. As the center of ExxonMobil’s Midwest integrated operations, it include pipelines, lubes production, distribution and fuels marketing. The refinery is one of the most energy efficient in the Unites States and processes nearly 250,000 barrels of crude per day into gasoline, ultra-low sulfur diesel, asphalt and other products.

What role you will play in our team
The Joliet Refinery SAP Analyst is responsible for requisitioning for various onsite groups, as well as developing into the site Invoicing and SAP Subject Matter Expert (SME). This role will also be responsible for providing ongoing coaching and guidance to various site personnel.- Located in Channahon, IL.
What you will do
Requisitioner (60%)- Work with site planners to create Service and Material Requisitions in SAP.
- Order materials utilizing SAP to assure contract items are purchased with agreement pricing.
- Work with onsite and offsite Buyers to ensure Purchase Orders are created in a timely manner.
- Troubleshoot SAP and BuySmart (by GEP) issues, ensuring feedback is provided to local users and agreement owners.
Invoicing SME (30%)- Receive invoice concerns from vendors, contractors, or site personnel, and triage issues to determine root cause.
- Collaborate with various onsite and offsite parties to resolve identified issues.
- Identify sustainable solutions to ensure limited repeatability of issues.
- Proactively review pending invoice data to work through potential issues before they arise.
SAP SME (10%)- Act as site SAP point of contact to offsite SAP owners.
- Manage and monitor access requests.
- Monitor work order partnering.
- Develop and distribute stewardship reports for inactive, overrun, and blanket work orders.
About you
Skills and Qualifications
- Prior working experience (preferably 2+ years) with SAP.
- Demonstrated attention to detail.
- Ability to coach and transfer knowledge to site users.
- Ability to prioritize and work under consistent time pressures.
- Ability to work with people from various backgrounds.
- Ability to work overtime, as needed (e.g. shutdowns).
Preferred Qualifications/ Experience
- Prior working experience with Smart by GEP.
- Knowledge of Requisition to Payment processes and systems (invoicing, SAP, etc.).
- Ability to identify inefficient work processes and provide tangible and sustainable solutions.
- Ability to analyze data and identify possible discrepancies.
- Ability to make sound decisions based on previous experience, while understanding Controls boundaries.
- Previous experience with interpreting contracts.
