Job Summary

Under the general direction of the Director of Revenue Cycle, the Manager - Revenue Cycle is responsible to provide support, leadership and staffing oversight for the revenue integrity, post-acute rehab and long term care billing teams of Mohawk Valley Health System. Collaborate with clinical and revenue cycle leadership to develop processes to ensure timeliness and accuracy of both facility and provider revenue. Provides daily direction and identifies opportunities of improvement for complex multi-departmental workflows.

Core Job Responsibilities

  • Manage the activities for the revenue integrity, post-acute rehab/long term care billing to ensure accuracy and timeliness of both facility and provider revenue.
  • Oversee the workload for department staff to prevent missed revenue, claim denials and improve inter-departmental communication.
  • Collaborates with various clinical and revenue cycle departments to investigate revenue/compliance opportunities.
  • Controls the revenue integrity software to maintain the charge master and improve the charge capture integration.
  • Keeps abreast of all federal, state and local regulations.
  • Maintains knowledge of all regulations and standards to ensure compliance with orders or directives issued by duly constituted governmental/regulatory agencies or third-party payers.
  • Investigates trends through reporting to communicate required change to ensure timely and accurate enrollment.
  • Reviews all statistical reports to monitor trends and goals, and determines operational and system deficiencies and implements corrective action plans as necessary.
  • Actively participates in performance improvement and quality improvement activities.
  • Directs the hiring and dismissals of department staff.
  • Coordinates the training of new hires and conducts employee performance appraisals of all staff under their supervision.
  • Leads monthly staff meetings and promotes positive employee relations.

Education/Experience Requirements

Required:

  • 4-year college degree in Business Discipline, Health Administration or similar studies
  • Two (2) years of Revenue Cycle Management experience


Preferred:
