Rock Creek Foundation is in search of a PRN (scheduled as needed) Residential Counselor to join our team in our Great Mills and Lexington Park, MD residential homes to support individuals with developmental disabilities reach goals and live productive and healthy lives in the community.

(2) Work Shifts Available: Weekends (7am-11PM) and Monday through Friday (7am-3pm) as needed.

Pay: Up to $13.00 per hour

Who you are:

What you’ll do:

  • Assists in planning recreational activities.
  • Counsels residents in identifying and resolving social or other problems.
  • Compiles records of daily activities of residents. Writes and submits incident reports as needed.
  • Supervises group-sponsored trips and social functions.
  • Ascertains need for and secures services of physician.
  • Answers telephone and sorts and distributes mail.
  • Escorts individuals on trips outside establishment for shopping or to obtain medical or dental services.
  • Plans menus.
  • Comply with COMAR, MHP and company regulations.
  • Implement resident rehabilitation plans and record appropriate data.
  • Record and submit all necessary documentation for billing.

What you’ll need:

  • High school diploma (or equivalent) and three (3) years’ related experience.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license with less than two (2) points as well as current automobile insurance.
  • Ability to move/lift up to 50lbs.
  • Availability to work nights and weekends.
  • Mental Health experience preferred.
  • Certified Medical Technician license preferred.
