Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with investigators to develop objectives and to design sampling, randomization, and statistical analysis plans to achieve study goals
  • Using established biostatistical and statistical techniques, perform appropriate methodologic procedures for statistical analysis, including graphs, schematic summaries, descriptive statistics, exploratory data analyses, confirmatory data analyses, and statistical tests and/or modeling.
  • Work with students and scientists to align statistical analysis plan with data collection procedures and forms.
  • Design tables and statistical procedures for research studies, and apply new statistical methodologies as appropriate.
  • Perform sample size and power calculations, and generate randomization schema.
  • Prepare tables/graphics for interim and final reports, and prepare written reports of statistical analyses.
  • Participate in writing statistical design, methods, and analysis result sections for manuscripts and research proposals.
  • Ensure data integrity and compliance with security policies governed by HIPAA.
  • Responsible for research support and related activities assigned by the Associate Dean for Research.
  • Prepare and teach biostatistics courses.

Qualifications

  • A doctoral degree in biostatistics, statistics, or related discipline from an accredited institution with a demonstrated record of achievement in research.
  • Expertise and advanced training in statistical methods for conducting biomedical or nursing science research.
  • Demonstrated expertise in statistical consulting/collaboration and technical writing.
  • Have a publication record in peer-reviewed journals.
  • Have teaching experience in biostatistics.
  • Have experiences in working on intramural or extramural funding mechanisms.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communications skills.
  • Self-starter, dependable, and team-oriented.
  • Ability to organize, multi-task, prioritize and balance short-term and long-term responsibilities.
  • Ability to maintain excellent working relationships with study teams, researchers, senior leaders and external contacts.

Preferred Qualifications


Previous experience with functional data, brain imaging, and/or OMICS data is a plus.
