Job Summary

The Research & Development (R&D) Engineer is responsible for research, development, and implementation of new processes, technologies, and materials to improve safety, quality, and productivity. Collaborate with design, product development, engineering, manufacturing, quality assurance, supply chain, and safety on implementation of new solutions for improvement and expansion of manufacturing capabilities for existing and new products. Manage multiple projects and provide periodic updates to leadership on achieved progress, associated risks, and identified alternatives.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

• Collaboratively brainstorm ideas to create solutions for new products to enable successful production.
• Ensure R&D methodologies and solutions adhere to company and industry manufacturing standards.
• Develop criteria for testing and validation of new processes, technologies, and materials.
• Analyze quality and safety test results to ensure compliance with internal and external standards.
• Identify opportunities for improvement and validate and implement solutions in manufacturing.
• Collaborate with all functions to improve or expand product and process solutions.
• Document results, provide periodic updates, present findings, and issue reports to all levels of the business.
• Track record of producing creative solutions and implementing in a production environment.

WHAT IS REQUIRED:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science or related field.
• 4 years’ experience as a research & development engineer or similar role.
• Knowledge of product development and manufacturing procedures and processes.
• Great attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills and analytical skills.
• Ability to work efficiently in a cross-functional team environment.
• Advanced computer and Microsoft Office Suite skills.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Project Management certifications.
• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification.
