Our confidential client near Moorestown, NJ is looking for a Registered Nurse for their Operating/Procedure Room. This person will be responsible for the planning, executing, directing, and evaluating the clinical care given to the surgical patient in the operating room. They will have contact with the patient in each phase of the endoscopy experience. Their responsibility includes the preparation, assembly and organization of the environment, equipment and supplies necessary. RESPONSBILITIES:

• Supervises nursing activities related to patient care and sets standards for accurate reporting and recording of patient's symptoms, reactions and progress.
• Provides input and standards in formulating patient care policy and procedures for the Center. Works with the medical staff to coordinate medical and nursing management of patient care.
• Assists in maintaining an adequate inventory of supplies, drugs, and equipment.
• Communicates with patient, family, and health professionals regarding care.
• Serves as a resource in areas of expertise to other staff members
• May help admit patients if schedule allows.
• Checks signed consent prior to beginning case.
• Shares responsibility with the Endoscopy Technician for ensuring that supplies for each case have been collected and readied for the day's schedule and assists Endoscopy Technician with supplies for case.
• Prepares patient for procedure by verifying patient identity and scheduled procedure, and assists patient into O.R.
• Helps to relieve patient's apprehension before and during administration of anesthesia
• Makes available additional instruments and supplies as requested during the operation.
• During conscious sedation cases, record vital signs and gives medications as ordered by physician.
• Documents and labels specimens clearly and correctly and according to policy
• Assists in transferring patient to PACU.
• Verifies endoscope serial number and records onto procedure record and on to label to be handed to endoscopy technician at end of procedure.
• Is responsible to assure that supplies for each case are ready for use.
• Is responsible for maintaining a safe environment in OR during procedure.
• Assists in cleaning of room after a case.
• Assists with post‑op call to patient and documents call and patient's responses on patient's record.
• Takes inventory and restock supplies as needed in O.R.
• Assists with nursing functions in other clinical areas.
• Help clean OR and assist with room turnover at the end of each case.
• Other duties may be assigned.
• Quality Assurance/Performance ImprovementEncourages all Center staff to be alert to the identification of problems to be presented to the Quality Assurance Committee.

Assists staff with addressing, researching, and solving Quality Assurance problem issues.
Prepares for anesthesia review, infection control safety, medical records and unusual occurrences reports.
Assists DON with Quality Assurance Meeting Agendas and Minutes
Revises and enforces policies appropriate to Quality Assurance follow up studies with final approval of the Board of Directors.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Registered Nurse w/ Current State License
• Minimum 1yr of Endoscopy experience
• Current CPR Certification
• Current ACLS Certification, preferred
• Pain Management experience, a plus

SCHEDULE/PAY:

• Monday – Friday, 6:30am – 2:30pm
• $40/hr
