Overview:

The Region Fleet Manager designate role is designed to develop a strong Leader who can transition to a Region Fleet Manager role with a geography. In the Region Fleet Manager designate role we are looking for a strong Team Leader & Business Owner. As a member of the Region Leadership team, the RFM designate must develop strong cross functional partnerships across all functions. The RFM designate builds and sustain strong business relationships with Transportation to provide a fleet of safe, reliable, efficient vehicles. The role requires advanced business management skills, Financial Management, and a strong technical understanding of fleet (or automotive) maintenance and repair.

The role will implement HQ & Region tactics/strategies to meet AOP commitment and continuously improve the maintenance processes and drive efficiencies. This role is responsible for the fleet activity within the Region that includes collaborating with Fleet Managers, and Leading Leads, Technicians, 2500+ assets, shop maintenance, Tech capability and engagement, Staffing/Retention, and all related facets of Fleet Operations (i.e. asset planning, fuel conservation, safety, productivity, shop audits, inventory management, project management, environmental management, financial performance, and controls). In addition, the role will have some responsibilities for managing fleet investments for improvements and infrastructure projects within the Region.

Key accountabilities include managing preventative maintenance programs, enabling training initiatives, national compliance and regional/national initiatives that impact the performance of the business in areas of cost, quality and reliability.

Strong computer skills in MS Outlook, MS Excel, MS Word, Fleet Management Systems, Business Objects, Financial Forecast Tools.

Base Location: Dallas – Ft Worth Metroplex

Responsibilities:
  • Lead the Region Fleet Team to deliver the cost, quality, service, and reliability results
  • Develop and execute the Fleet Annual Operating Plan
  • Align to National strategic plan to drive Fleet performance
  • Develop and manage a comprehensive asset utilization plan
  • Partner with the Sales/IMO Teams and have presence/influence in RBT
  • Execute all Go-To-Market conversion plans and ensure fleet needs are met timely
  • Execute a fuel conservation plan to reduce fuel usage and improve overall MPG
  • Manage all regulatory compliance (DOT, EPA, FDA, SOX, Fuel Controls)
  • Develop Technical and Non-technical capability of the Region Fleet Team
  • Build & Strengthen practices that impacts the business within the Fleet COE
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years previous experience in fleet maintenance or supply chain operations.
  • Intermediate computer systems knowledge
  • Knowledge & experience with DOT guidelines
  • Fleet or similar CMMS experience
  • Ability to manage Technician & Fleet Staff performance
  • Effective interaction skills with leadership, subordinates and peers
  • Ability to influence cross functional teams
  • Demonstrated Change Management experience
  • Excellent writing and analytical skills
  • Leadership skills including coaching, facilitation, presentation, and team building
  • Flexible - willingness to work off shifts, holidays, and weekends as necessary based on business need
  • Travel up to 40% to responsibility sites
