Position Overview

Will greet employees, customers, vendors, and visitors to the office via phone and in person. Will process and prepare incoming and outgoing mail and shipments.

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)

• Ensure Health & Safety standards are met by complying with legislation, company policies and promoting a safe work environment
• Must possess a professional attitude while interacting with peers, management, and general public
• Greets employees, customers, vendors, and visitors as they enter the building
• Answers phones and directs calls or takes messages
• Organizes and distributes incoming and outgoing mail and shipments
• Other admin duties as assigned
• Special projects as assigned
• Must be able to communicate effectively with peers and superiors.
• Must be able to maintain an acceptable attendance record in a flexible work schedule.
• Must maintain at all times a strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures.
• Must be available to travel and work from other company facilities as needed.
• Must possess a professional attitude while interacting with peers, contractors and general public.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work in an organized fashion is a must.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily according to Preferred Materials Inc. guidelines and standards.

Education/Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• One-year prior office/admin experience required

Work Requirements

• Must pass pre-employment physical, drug screen, criminal background check and driving record review.
• Must be willing to work flexible schedule including: nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime when necessary.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Must demonstrate a strong commitment to safety.
• Regular and timely attendance is required.

Knowledge/Skill Requirements

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
• Ability to conduct basic mathematical calculations.
• Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.

Physical Requirements

This position is located in an air conditioned office and primarily requires desk work. Ocassionally requires lifting of up to 20 pounds.
