We are currently seeking Reading/Literacy (Dyslexia Intervention) Instructional Coaching Consultants with the qualifications described below.

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four-year educational institution
  • A current Texas teacher certification in ELA/Reading/Writing, Generalist EC-6, 4-8 or 8-12); Dyslexia Certification or intervention background is a plus
  • 6+ years of relevant and successful K-12 teaching and instructional coaching experience; Dyslexia intervention and resource support experience is highly preferred
  • Extensive experience with research-based instructional strategies and best practices
  • Proven track record of student achievement
  • Experience in a variety of academic and socioeconomic settings
  • Available 3 to 6 hours a day during school hours and at other times variably for meetings and training
  • Lives in Houston or Greater Houston area and can travel within at least a 30-mile radius

Consultant will be expected to:

  • Provide instructional coaching support for dyslexia interventionists in a school setting
  • Implement teacher support structures with dyslexia-based methods of instruction
  • Attend dyslexia-based training and development
  • Collect, analyze, and utilize data to drive interventions and make decisions
  • Facilitate data-driven talks with departments, teams, and decision makers
  • Create, differentiate and implement individualized teacher support plans
  • Support effective lesson planning and delivery
  • Model effective instruction
  • Lead feedback sessions
  • Track teacher progress and adjust support as needed
  • Conduct student small group interventions
  • Facilitate individual and team professional learning community sessions to ensure alignment of instructional and assessment goals
  • Administer department training
  • Communicate and collaborate with leadership regularly regarding teacher progress and support
