Quality Engineers are core delivery team members responsible for the validation of functional and nonfunctional requirements implemented by a team. They are responsible for decomposing the functional and technical requirements created by Product Owners and Systems Analysts into test scripts. Quality Engineers raise defects as issues are identified and support the remediation process with teams.

ROLE

Designs, develops, and executes manual/automated software test strategies, plans, and test cases.

Designs, codes, and documents automated test cases within the defined framework to satisfy business requirements and client/project expectations using primarily Selenium with Java.

Analyzes and determines test dependencies including QA environment, QA tools, training, build and deployment plans, and communication processes.

  • Participates in grooming, planning, and retrospective meetings.
  • Develops and communicates accurate estimates based as requested by project/management team.
  • Troubleshoots test runs and environments. Identifies and resolves problems.
  • Executes automated test scripts, researches test run failures, and reports defects and results.

REQUIRED

  • 4+ years’ in QA domain designing, developing, and executing both manual/automated tests.
  • 1+ years’ of experience creating effective robust UI automation testing using Selenium or similar.
  • Recent development experience in Java (or similar).
  • Knowledge and understanding of typical multi-tier application architecture (presentation, service, data).
  • Solid experience with Microsoft SQL or similar relational database.
  • Knowledge of XML/JSON and web-based SOAP/RESTful services.
  • Desire for being an active participant of a team willing to continually self-assess and improve.
  • Self-driven continuous learning mindset.
  • Accessibility testing experience.
  • Travel industry technology knowledge, such as third-party data feeds from hotels, theme parks, rental car organizations, and Global Distribution System (GDS)
  • Experience working in a Scrum or other Agile style environment
  • Inventive problem solver.

Recommended

  • Experience in API testing or other back-end testing.
  • Familiarity of CI/CD and DevOps.
  • Experience in building and/or maintaining automated test infrastructure.
  • Experience in the development of test tools.
  • Familiarity with Service Oriented /Microservices Architectures.
  • Mobile, device specific, and responsive web experience.
  • Working knowledge of any the following: Apache, TFS, IntelliJ, Maven, Git, Junit, Jenkins, Splunk, SOAPUI, SauceLabs.

Pay Scale:

Level 3: $120,000 - $155,000
