Quality Engineer

A proven track record of driving cost reductions, implementing continuous process improvements, creative thinking, and a quality mindset is required.

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:
Develops, modifies, applies and maintains quality standards and evaluation methods for products and processes.
Interface with other departments to address and resolve “day to day” issues.
Perform root cause analysis and investigations.
Conduct internal and external audits (supplier surveillance) to international standards.
Identify and collect data to measure cost of quality and provide the basis for continuous improvement.
Contribute to the Management Review process through data analysis.
Develop and execute QA training programs across all functional areas.
Provide quality engineering support as needed.
Responsible to maintain the Corrective and Preventive Action program.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of the Quality Management System.
Provide back up support for incoming testing and inspection for Quality Control. Ability to work with basic inspection and testing equipment (Calipers, Micrometers, Pin Gauges, etc.).
Review and approve deviations, NCMR’s, CAPA’s, DCO’s, and change requests, as required.
Conduct activities and projects assigned by the Quality Manager.
Support the company quality policy and quality objectives.

REQUIREMENTS

Self-motivated with strong interpersonal communication and cross functional skills
Teamwork: Must be able to work well with people at all levels of the organization
Experience with vendor identification, qualification, and negotiation
Mathematical aptitude and experience with CAD specifications
Strong customer service bias
Leadership/supervisory skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.


Develops, modifies, applies and maintains quality standards and evaluation methods for products and processes.
Provides moderately complex statistical information for quality improvement by determining and applying testing methods and criteria.
Coordinates and guides technical evaluations, analysis, and related data acquisition processes to ensure division quality objectives are achieved.
Blueprint reading, strong computer skills.
ASQ Certified preferred but not required.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or a related technical discipline.
2-5 years of experience inspecting and quality engineering/assurance techniques, procedures, instruments, principles and concepts.
Ability to effectively apply continuous improvement principles and techniques to quality and manufacturing functions
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
